SIEM actively participates in various extension activities related to the society and tries to address the social issues for inclusive holistic development of the students.

Institute runs the National Service Scheme (NSS) in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU). The NSS cell has been established in the institute to nurture social and civil responsibility amongst the students. Under the NSS cell different activities like tree plantation, blood donation camps, donation drives, cleanliness drives, health awareness camps, and Road safety drives are conducted every year. During the pandemic, the Institute organized a vaccination camp for all the employees and students. NSS conducted clothes distribution and mask distribution activity for the needy people.

Along with this the Ganesh Festival is celebrated every year by the institute. During this festival, green environment awareness activities like ‘Shadu Mati Murti workshop’ and ‘Ganesh Murti Sankalan’ are conducted. Special initiatives are taken by the institute for creating awareness about the impact of the drugs by conducting a seminar on anti-narcotics in association with local police station.

Activity proposed by the Central Government of India and directed through Savitribai Phule Pune University i.e, “Survey of youth not in formal education or regular employment “was conducted and the report of the survey was submitted to Savitribai Phule Pune University by NSS.

The institute in association with Primary Health Centre (PHC) conducted a Health Checkup camp to create awareness about AIDS on occasion of World AIDS. This activity is supported with AIDS Test Kits by the PHC.

The NSS Unit of the institute has adopted a village and a special NSS camp is organized every year with active participation of the students and staff members. Various social issues are addressed under the camp by conducting activities like importance of hygiene via cleanliness drive. Rallies are conducted in the village to create awareness on Saksharta and Vyasan-mukti. It nurtures our students as citizens with moral, ethical, and communal values to offer services to the society.

Different sports and cultural activities are organized in the Institute to promote harmony towards each other. Activities such as Poster presentation, Essay Writing Competition, Sports competitions, Speech Competitions, Group Discussions along with many festivals like SANDIPOTSAV, Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Green Day, etc. are celebrated every year in the Institute. This establishes positive interaction among people of different cultural backgrounds. Many programs are conducted for women about personal Hygiene and health. Girls from the institute distributed sanitary pads to the women of the village.

The mentioned activities have brought significant change in the adopted village terms of hygiene, literacy and personal health and active participation has been observed by the villagers.

SIEM is an accessible and barrier-free campus with ramps and disabled-friendly pathways, washrooms, Pedestrian-friendly footpaths along with beautiful landscaping. Wheelchairs, ambulance is available if required.
